Top 3 Price Prediction: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple – BTC takes a breather, ETH and XRP maintain bullish footing

Source Fxstreet
  • Bitcoin trades at $78,802 on Wednesday after a mild 2.4% pullback over the previous two days.
  • Ethereum trades above key EMAs, signaling a constructive price action and a bullish outlook.
  • XRP continues to defend above the 200-day EMA at $1.353, keeping its upside prospects intact.

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Ripple (XRP) are trading with a broadly constructive tone on Wednesday despite BTC's mild pullback over the past two days. The Crypto King holds above $78,000; ETH and XRP remain strong above key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), keeping their upside prospects intact.

Bitcoin consolidates above key EMAs

Bitcoin price trades at $78,811 on Wednesday, holding a bullish near-term bias as it consolidates well above its key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). The 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs clustered between roughly $70,600 and $72,900 sit comfortably below spot and suggest the broader uptrend remains supported despite the recent loss of upside momentum.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has eased to around 61, pointing to moderated but still positive momentum. Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator remains below the signal line, suggesting the latest advance is slowing rather than reversing the broader bullish structure.

On the downside, initial support is at the 200-day EMA near $72,860, followed by the 50-day EMA around $72,566 and then the 100-day EMA near $70,588, where dip-buying interest could re-emerge if a deeper pullback unfolds. Below these dynamic levels, horizontal support is located at $66,500 and then at $62,300.

On the topside, the next significant resistance sits at the horizontal barrier around $85,000; a decisive break above this level would likely reopen the path toward fresh highs, while repeated failure beneath it would favor continued consolidation above the underlying EMA floor.

Ethereum maintains a constructive outlook

Ethereum price trades at $2,494 on Wednesday, maintaining a constructive bullish bias as price holds well above the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs clustered between roughly $2,110 and $2,215. This rising EMA stack supports the short-term trend, while the RSI around 63 suggests positive but not yet overbought momentum, even as the MACD stays in negative territory, hinting that upside traction is moderating after the recent impulsive advance.

On the topside, immediate resistance aligns with the nearby horizontal barrier at $2,500, which guards a more substantial psychological level at $3,000.

On the downside, the first meaningful support zone is defined by the 50-day EMA at $2,215, followed by the 200-day EMA at $2,182 and the 100-day EMA at $2,109; a deeper pullback would expose the horizontal floor at $2,000, with $1,385 acting as a major medium-term base if selling pressure were to extend.

XRP holds strong above 200-day EMA

XRP trades at $1.416 midweek, holding a constructive bullish bias as price remains above the key EMAs clustered between roughly $1.242 and $1.354. This layering of EMAs below spot suggests underlying dip demand, even as the RSI eases to a still-positive 60 and the MACD slips slightly into negative territory, hinting that upside momentum is cooling rather than breaking.

On the downside, initial support is seen at the recent horizontal level around $1.300, reinforced by the 200-day EMA at $1.354 and the shorter-term 50-day EMA near $1.265, with the 100-day EMA at $1.242 and the prior psychological floor at $1.000 guarding a deeper retracement.

On the topside, the next notable resistance sits much higher at the horizontal cap near $1.900, and only a sustained break above that zone would reopen the path toward a more extended bullish leg.

Cryptocurrency metrics FAQs

The developer or creator of each cryptocurrency decides on the total number of tokens that can be minted or issued. Only a certain number of these assets can be minted by mining, staking or other mechanisms. This is defined by the algorithm of the underlying blockchain technology. On the other hand, circulating supply can also be decreased via actions such as burning tokens, or mistakenly sending assets to addresses of other incompatible blockchains.

Market capitalization is the result of multiplying the circulating supply of a certain asset by the asset’s current market value.

Trading volume refers to the total number of tokens for a specific asset that has been transacted or exchanged between buyers and sellers within set trading hours, for example, 24 hours. It is used to gauge market sentiment, this metric combines all volumes on centralized exchanges and decentralized exchanges. Increasing trading volume often denotes the demand for a certain asset as more people are buying and selling the cryptocurrency.

Funding rates are a concept designed to encourage traders to take positions and ensure perpetual contract prices match spot markets. It defines a mechanism by exchanges to ensure that future prices and index prices periodic payments regularly converge. When the funding rate is positive, the price of the perpetual contract is higher than the mark price. This means traders who are bullish and have opened long positions pay traders who are in short positions. On the other hand, a negative funding rate means perpetual prices are below the mark price, and hence traders with short positions pay traders who have opened long positions.
