Market Sentiment Stabilizes, Market Awaits New Data; US Stock Index Futures Diverge Premarket, China Concept Stock Data Partially Bright

TradingKey — U.S. stock futures edged lower in pre-market trading on March 5, with Dow futures down approximately 0.09%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures posted modest gains as sentiment in the tech sector remained relatively stable. While fluctuations in index futures were limited, market risk appetite remained cautious.

Earnings reports for Chinese concept stocks continue to roll out, with several internet platforms delivering solid results. This has fueled gains in the A50 Index, as well as Hang Seng and Hang Seng Tech Index futures.

On March 5, Bilibili announced its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2025. Data showed fourth-quarter net revenue of 8.32 billion yuan, up 8% year-on-year; gross profit of 3.08 billion yuan, up 11% year-on-year, with the gross margin improving to 37.0%. Profitability saw significant improvement, with net profit surging 478% year-on-year to 514 million yuan, while adjusted net profit rose 94% year-on-year to 878 million yuan.

At the macro level, markets are still waiting for key employment data due this week. Previously released ADP employment figures were slightly better than expected, but downward revisions to January's figures indicated a slowdown in labor market growth. Traders are closely watching Friday's non-farm payrolls report to determine whether the Federal Reserve's rate-cut path for the year will be further adjusted.

In addition, uncertainty surrounding the situation in the Middle East continues to rattle global market sentiment. Oil prices remain at relatively high levels, keeping inflation expectations and interest rate paths uncertain, which has led pre-market capital to remain largely on the sidelines.

Ahead of key macro data, the U.S. pre-market featured diverging indices, cautious capital, and price action driven by individual stocks. Short-term market volatility is likely to remain driven primarily by data releases and geopolitical events.
