On October 13, Eastern Time, U.S. investment banking giant Goldman Sachs Group (GS) reported strong third-quarter (Q3) FY2026 financial results, driving its stock price to gap up sharply and surge over 3%, breaking through the key $900 mark to trade at $924.

According to the released financial report, Goldman Sachs' Q3 FY2026 net revenue rose 23% year-over-year to $18.679 billion, significantly beating the Wall Street consensus estimate of $16.83 billion. Net income increased 29% year-over-year to $5.294 billion, while diluted earnings per share hit $17.01, up 39% year-over-year and also above market expectations of $13.09.
The primary engine driving Goldman Sachs' earnings and stock price surge was its equities division. Net revenue for the division surged 72% year-over-year to $6.441 billion, effectively offsetting a short-term slowdown in its Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) business. Goldman Sachs' strong quarterly performance once again validates its irreplaceable leadership in capital markets trading and investment banking M&A.
