The main reasons for the plunge in Samsung Electronics' stock price are concerns over shareholder returns and capital expenditures. Last Friday (August 21), Samsung Electronics officially announced the largest shareholder return plan in South Korean corporate history, planning to return 90 trillion to 110 trillion won to investors by 2026. The plan sparked market concerns about whether high capital expenditures would squeeze short-term free cash flow and impact capital allocation efficiency, leading institutional investors to take profits.
